about

Lyell campsite is in the middle of the Buller gorge between Murchison and Westport. Late one afternoon I pulled in to set up camp for the evening at met three other campers sharing the camp site with me; two sisters cycling the south island and an elderly German gentleman touring the country in his car. After setting up camp the four of us sat around a picnic table and shared our evening meal. We sat up until around 10pm sharing our travel stories and why we were traveling the country, and naturally we did a lot of gazing at the night sky. One of the sisters suggested if you're ever looking for the Southern Cross, find Orion's Belt and then look South for the Cross. It was beautiful brief moment of crossing paths with like minded people. In the morning the four of us exchanged details then headed on our separate ways.

lyrics

Do you ever look up at the sun
& Wonder what's behind those eyes?
Three thousand million years in the sky
Just to cut me down to size

Hold me in a way that makes me laugh
Like the Wellington wind that breaks your heart
Hold me in a way
Like a summers day
Hold me in a way that changes my heart

Do you ever look up at the stars
& Try to find the Southern Cross?
Find Tautoru Orion's Belt in the North
& To the South that's where you are

Hold me in a way that makes me laugh
Like the Wellington wind that stole your scarf
Hold me in a way
Like you want to play
Hold me in a way that changes my heart

Instrumental

Hold me in a way that changes my heart
Like the Wellington wind that breaks your heart
Hold me in a way
Like you want to play
Hold me in a way that changes my heart

Hold me in a way
Like you want to play
Hold me in a way
That shakes my
That makes my
That saves my
That changes my heart
