And so we end our little journey back where we started, Hoki mai e tama mā. I opened this record with Hoki mai, performed by my father in 2006/7 at Pariroa Pā and we close with a full Andrews whānau choir. Uncle Ray, Auntie Diane, cousins Anita & Patria & kids, big sis Leigh, little sis Rach and nephew Coda. It was a real highlight to get them into the studio to honour Dad with this version of the song he performed for my niece Manawa back at our pā. It feels right to close the record with this song and karakia.
